Congratulations, New Orleans Saints

Postby rocco » 15:31 Mon 08 Feb 10

What a game! I really didn't root for either team but it's great to see a team that's never won the big game before pull it out. They didn't just pull it out, they pulled it out and smacked the Colts in the face with it.

(Whatever "it" is, I leave up to you.)

We as a family enjoyed the game. We had decided beforehand to root for New Orleans. We may be closer geographically to the Colts, but we liked the Saints more. Great coaching job, great rebound from a shaky start. We all had a good time because there were a lot of snacks for the game and we were all excited for the final game of the football season.

Loved the shot at the end of Brees with his little boy. Very emotional and sweet, with the quarterback blinking back tears. And the fans apparently are having quite a celebration back home. Good for them!

I didn't even see it, but I recorded it and am looking forward to watching the game (and the commercials!) when I make it home. We've actually had really good games the last three or four Super Bowls. Parity actually seems to be coming to the NFL finally.
Think! It's patriotic!

I only saw the last 4 or 5 minutes. I was pulling for the Saints, but I wouldn't have bet any money on them. :|

I watched the Super Bowl live on BS1, a Japanese station, Monday morning with a few friends at the Sit-N-Bull bar and restro. Had a great American style breakfast and a great time. The friends are all retired sailors like me, we also all served together at one time or another during our careers. One is a close friend who I've know for over 17 years. He retired here before me in 1998, the others retired after I did. One a year after me, the other a couple of years ago. I retired in 2003.

I really didn't care who won, but I am glad the Saints did.

That sounds like a good time, Chris. It's more fun to hang out with buddies for games like that.
